DNA Data Storage

Hey there, tech enthusiasts, researchers and innovators! We’ve got some thrilling news to share with you today. Major Groove is taking a giant leap into the future of data storage, and we couldn’t be more excited to tell you all about it!

We are thrilled to announce that Major Groove, in collaboration with the TAPDANCE lab at Maynooth University and tilibit nanosystems, is set to embark on an incredible journey with the support of a European Union’s EIC Pathfinder Challenge grant. Our mission? To revolutionize the way we store data through DNA Data Storage. We’re calling it DISCO – DNA Infrastructure for Storage and COmputation. 💃🕺🧬

The world generates an astronomical amount of data every day, and traditional data storage solutions are beginning to show their limitations. This is where DNA data storage comes into play, offering the promise of an ultra-compact, durable, and efficient solution for long-term data preservation. With DISCO, Major Groove aims to push the boundaries of this technology, and we have the perfect partners to make it happen.

The journey doesn’t end with data storage. The DISCO project will also explore the exciting possibilities of combining DNA data storage with computation: DNA Computing. Imagine having a storage system that can not only store your data but also perform complex computations right within the DNA itself. It’s a futuristic vision that we’re committed to turning into a reality.

Stay tuned!! 🪩🎶💃🕺🧬
